HOW TO MANAGE TIME??

Time management is one of the most important study skills for a university student. As a student, life can be a big challenge, especially finding the time to attend classes, study, work at a job, doing assignments, and participate in sports or other extra-curricular activities and so on. It would be great if you could increase the number of hours in a day, but short of that, making the best use of those hours can make things a lot easier and with better results.Talking about your study time, it will not only be taken up by the job. You have to take care of many other activities which are part of your college education, such as organizing and participating into events, seminars and presentations. Socializing with new friends and attending parties will be on your list too.

WONDERING HOW TO BALANCE YOUR TIME?
Don't worry; all you need do is work on your time management skills and draw up a calendar for managing your time. The calendar of your activities will help you adjust all your time so that you won't miss any event and still get enough time for your studies.
· First, you must have a semester calender. Universities provide students with blank
semester calendars. You can obtain one through online or create one according to your own liking.
· In the semester calendars, enter your class schedules, project due dates, registration dates and other important dates. These important dates may come from your class syllabi and the school timetables provided in their brochures and announcements. Enter each date as you find them into your semester calendar.
· Set up your own due dates for each phase of a big project, like term papers and projects. You can also add personal commitments to social and personal events. Maintaining a semester calendar as your time management method will help you plan before a given schedule. This way, you will avoid last minute disasters.
· You can also set up a weekly planner. Weekly planners are particularly useful when you need to plan and manage short-term deadlines such as weekly assignments or class schedules or assembly and practice sessions. Your preparation time for any class can also be entered in the calendar. If you are not sure of how much time you will need for reviewing topics taught in class, have a rule of thumb to block two hours of study time for each hour of a lecture.
· It’s important that you review and tally out your planner and semester calendar on a regular basis. This will enable you to check out the things you have accomplished for that week and adjust time for the pending and new activities for the week.
· Every night create a daily "action list" for the following day. Use your weekly and semester calendar to do this. You can even put in categories to set your priorities straight.
· Your calendar for time management is an important tool to help you survive through difficult situations in you college life. Making a calendar and following it religiously will not only bring good results, but will also make you more organized and systematic person overall.
